We live in a world where there are very rich and utterly poor people. The poor are often neglected. We often forgot our duty towards the poor and the needy. This league will try to inculcate in the minds of our young ones our responsibility towards the neglected poor and a love for serving them in their need.
One of the most important methods for developing creative talent in the literary, artistic and cultural field is the weekly meeting of the Literary Association. The class teacher gives the necessary guidance and direction to the students for conducting these meetings in the most useful way. The elected secretary of the association organizes the meeting in consultation with the class teacher. Besides the regular weekly literary associations in classes, students are expected to join and participate actively in at least two of the following organizations.
To develop the varied interests and different talents of the pupils we provide ample opportunity through several co-curricular activities. Students are given training in music, painting and other art forms. Besides formal coaching in music and art, they are given opportunity to get involved in artistic, cultural and social activities through various associations and clubs. Participation in one of the co-curricular activities is compulsory. In the continuous and comprehensive evaluation of the students the performance in one or two co-curricular activities will be observed and the grades will be entered in the progress report card/mark transcript.
This is meant to create in our students increased interest in, and love for, the day-to-day scientific achievements of the modern world. This would help to tickle their curiosity to know more about the thrilling and marvelous contributions modern science has offered to humanity. Ultimately, this would help the student to equip himself with a creative mind to eradicate poverty and misery from the face of the truth.
The history club aims at creating awareness among the pupils about our rich historical and cultural heritage. Keeping this end in view the members of the club are motivated to unravel many an intriguing passage into the annals of history. As the motto of the club, “shaping the destiny of man, through the past, in the present and in to the future,” indicates, every member is instilled to know the past, to cope with the present and to surge ahead in to the future as responsible citizens.
The national cadet corps in the school aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, sportsmanship, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among the students. The activities of NCC provide a suitable environment to motivate the cadets, to train and groom themselves as responsible citizens, future leaders of our great country in all walks of life and also to take up a career in the Armed Forces. Through campus NCC gives ample opportunity for community living and by the visits to hill stations cadets get chances for expeditions through trekking/mountaineering. An NCC parade will be held once in a week. The school NCC unit is under 2 Kerala Battalion NCC, Thirumala.
